A coaching relationship provides a safe, confidential environment for clients to vent disappointments, celebrate whole heartedly, hatch new plans, create visions and strategies, come up with solutions they hadn't dreamed of 30 minutes earlier, reach clarity about what they want and how they can achieve it.
A trusted professional coach provides the client with a sounding board for new ideas and management solutions in their real time work environment.
A coaching session is generally comprised of three parts:
- Review what went well and what didn't, and celebrate successes;
- Identify and address the present challenges or objectives – here the clients discovers new options, ways of doing things or of communicating differently. If appropriate, the coach introduces tools or models that help clients expand their “toolbox” while addressing existing challenges;
- Action planning – identifying the specific actions that will help clients reach their objectives.
Most of our executive coaching takes place over the phone at designated times, usually for a one-hour session per week.
